Know Cosmetics - No Bare Brows

Brand new from Know Cosmetics is their No Bare Brows Universal 4 in 1 Brow Fix!

Retailing for $24 CAD (although I was unable to find it on Sephora just yet), No Bare Brows promises a buildable colour that is suitable for blondes all the way up to darker, bolder brows. On one end is the pencil itself, and the other, an invisible taming wax.

No Bare Brows also comes with a sharpener and a brush tip that you can slot on top of the pencils. Personally, I preferred to stick with the clear caps and use my usual spoolie.

I was quite skeptical that a single brow pencil would be able to cover a wide range of brow colours, but I was pretty impressed when I swatched it. The shade appears pale enough for blondes and was blissfully not too warm toned.

As you can see from the before and after shots above, I have barely any tail end to my brows and definitely not much in terms of definition. No Bare Brows was able to help define my shape and carve it out. Interestingly, the brow pencil side itself had enough “adhesive” in the formula to keep my brows from moving so I really didn’t need the taming wax at all (rendering that half of the pencil completely redundant for me).

However… I’m not really sold on it for me. This was the lightest I could manage to do my brows and it still turned out too dark for my hair colour. I can get away with it, but it never looks completely natural to me. You’ll also notice a few little “chunks” in my brow… this was the result of doing my usual stroking method to create some sense of a brow. And I get it, it’s layering itself so that it can be used for darker haired people – however, it means you have to nail your brow shape on your first go through, otherwise you risk getting too many dark chunks in your brows.  These chunkier bits were almost impossible to comb through because they had such a thick waxy consistency that adhered to my brows like glue (which is both a good and bad thing).

The other downside for me is that although the pencil does contain enough wax to keep my brows in place, it’s also somehow soft and required a lot of sharpening. I was sharpening this product every time I did my brows and I felt like I was wasting a lot of product. That being said, longevity was excellent and I noticed no fading or smudging throughout the day.

So sadly… this one was a pass for me. 🙁

The product featured in this post was sent to me for consideration.

  1. sadly this one is a pass for me reading your reviews, i really love good brows products and still searching a new one that better than Annastasia or Benefit

  2. Hmm the close up photo does look really great, but I can see why you’d think it’s a bit dark. Too bad, as it sounded like a neat concept!
