Too Faced Melted Melon (Review, Swatches + Comparison)

Too Faced Melted Melon

My ongoing quest to own every single Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick continues…

During the Sephora VIB sale this past April, I opted to pick up a shade I didn’t yet own: Melted Melon. It’s described as a “guava-colour” and it seems a bit more up my alley compared to Melted Coral which feels a lot more orange to me.

If you’re new to the Too Faced Melted formula, here’s a brief run down:

  • They are liquid lipsticks, but they do not dry down super matte and stiff like the usual suspects (Kat Von D, Anastasia, Colour Pop, etc.)
  • They go on glossy and then dry down to a soft matte formula within about an hour that is still comfortable to wear.
  • The wear time on these is fairly impressive as I get 6+ hours of them (without eating).
  • They are not transfer proof.

Of course, just owning Melted Melon isn’t enough – I had to see how much it compared to the shades I already owned! When I pulled out my collection of Melteds, Metal Coral and Melted Strawberry were the only shades that were remotely similar to Melted Melon.

In swatches, you can see the significant colour difference between them all, but they are like varying intensities of the same colour range. It really made for a beautiful gradient on my arm!

Melted Coral is definitely the orange of the bunch. Whereas Melted Melon is very similar to Melted Coral, just with a lot more red in it. And Melted Strawberry is just straight of strawberry-red goodness.

So how do I feel about this shade? Quite frankly… it’s to die for! Melted Melon has rapidly become a brand new favourite lip colour in my collection (mentioned it in my May favourites video too!). I love how vibrant it is and how it’s not quite as orange.

I feel light it lights up my features, and, of course, I can wear it with allll of the coral blushes I’ve been throwing on my face lately! In short? It’s a total win for me!

  1. What a lovely shade! I don’t own many coral/red shades, I am more of a pink lipstick girl but this one is absolutely gorgeous! 🙂

    1. Yeah I was a little suspicious as to how it would look with my colouring, but it turned out really, really flattering! Melted Strawberry is a killer shade too!

  2. These colours scream summer to me! The swatches are so pretty, I am really diggin’ the melted strawberry 🙂

  3. Such a perfect summer color! It looks more watermelon in the first closeup but more red in your last photo – which would you say it’s closer to irl?
