The 100 – Season 3 Episode 3 – Ye Who Enter Here Makeup Tutorial

I love, love, LOVE the TV series “The 100” and I got a liiiiittle excited during the  Season 3 episode “Ye Who Enter Here” and Clarke’s incredible Grounder makeup during that council scene. So I sat down to recreate it. Enjoy!

A few housekeeping notes…

  1. I’m going to try doing two videos a week going forward (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) because I’m really enjoying the format.
  2. Blog posts will continue on the Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule with Saturday posts when I have skincare to talk about, and Sundays while I continue to have makeup palettes to swatch (annnnd there’s still about twenty of them left in the queue!).

That’s it! I hope you’re enjoying my videos as much as I’m loving making them!

  1. Love this! I love The 100, been watching since season one. I critique it A LOT but it has definitely improved since season one, and it is so addictive. (My main criticism being: how did the Grounders develop a complex language in ~100 years, but still speak English too?) I love/hate Clarke. She’s done things I can’t agree with, but she’s badass. I really appreciate how woman-centric the show is too, with many of the toughest characters being female. It’s refreshing.

You did Clarke’s makeup so well! How long did it take to remove all that black? lol

    1. That’s a really good point regarding the languages. I hadn’t even thought of that!
And yep, totally agree with you – Clarke’s made decisions I don’t necessarily agree with, but she follows through and that’s often what counts more. I’m also a huge fan of the female aspect of it (I actually find it quite hard to get into shows where men are the lead characters), and I ESPECIALLY love that Clarke is not only bisexual, but they’ve also very much indicated that it’s not a phase. I loved seeing her in the season 3 premiere episode with that woman at the trade shack. I was like “YES! Drive it home that it’s not just a Lexa thing, that she also appreciates other women as well”. And obviously the whole Finn story as well.

Honestly, the removal wasn’t that bad. I use the Dermalogica Pre-cleanse (oil-based) and it pretty much wiped it all clear after a few pumps!

    1. The amount of work required for videos is insane. On one hand, it cuts down on the photography aspect, which can take a while too, but the other side is that you spend hours editing. Something like a lip swatch video isn’t too bad, it’s pretty quick editing (let’s say 2 hours), but the makeup tutorials and stuff? You’re looking at closer to 3-4 hours per video. I’m surprised with the time sync, but it’s nice to be learning something new!

And yeah, trying to find the balance between my sanity, two videos a week AND blogging top of that 5 days a week may be difficult… but I’ll give it a go and see how it goes. Honestly, one of the things that keeps me going the most is the response I get from people. And the response to videos has been very, very good, which makes me want to keep on going with it!
