Hit Pan #4

I don’t know about you guys, but it’s not empties posts that get me excited… it’s HIT PAN posts that do it for me! Empties always seem to be of the boring stuff – the stuff we use every single day and always end up repurchasing. Which I suppose is a good indicator of what we finish and actually love… but my god, there’s just never enough makeup in there to make it interesting!

So here’s a recent Hit Pan post of the items (since February) that I’ve managed to dig down deep into.

Joe Fresh Sand Bronzer
Joe Fresh Sand Bronzer

This is about one of the only products from Joe Fresh that I actually ended up liking (the cream blush made my cheeks itch, the rose balm was DISGUSTING and the lip tint tasted like acid). And clearly I REALLY liked it. This Sand Bronzer is matte and a light bronze shade, which worked out really for me during the colder months when my skin was paler. I’m hoping to finish this one up completely this winter as I have a LOT of bronzers and they need some love too!

Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia

Oh Nivea lip butters, you never do me wrong. I had previously gone through a whole Caramel Kiss one, and now I’m on to my Vanilla & Macadamia flavoured one. Unfortunately, these lip butters do produce a white cast on the lips, so I opt to apply them before bed and they last through the night. It helps keep my lips in great condition because I’m more inclined towards matte lipsticks that definitely dry out my lips.

MAC - Landscape Green pigment

And finally, I hit pan on my pressed MAC pigment in Landscape Green. I had mostly used this for my Gamora Halloween makeup look, but when I dipped into it recently for a makeup look I ended up hitting pan immediately. As you can see, it’s a gorgeous matte green shade, although I believe it’s a pro product.

Are you hitting pan on anything recently? Let me know!

  1. Yes! Hitting pan on makeup feels good, especially for us beauty [hoarders] bloggers! 😉
I hit pan on a MAC eyeshadow that I mostly use as a liner, and even though the hole to the pan is small (cause I use a small angled brush), it’s still pan!
I’ve only tried nail polish from Joe Fresh, I don’t know why I never picked up any of their makeup.

    1. It’s getting harder and harder to hit pan though. Since we have so much stuff, I find it’s hard to focus on any one product anymore.

Which MAC shadow did you hit pan on? I think they’re the product I’ve hit the most pan on since I’ve been using them the longest.

      1. I actually have 3 that I’ve hit pan on, but 2 of them I use a lot. Naked Lunch and Jest I use a lot all over the lid. The one that got me excited was Mulch cause I use it as a liner so it’s really just a little every time.

  2. It’s always amazing to see what people hit pan on! I hit pan on my Nivea Vanilla Macademia too. I love it so much 🙂 last time I had almost hit pan on a pot lip balm I ended up throwing it out because it was Lush and it was expired (and also very creamy so it was getting a tad gross) so I’m excited to have done that again but there’s still another year left before I can finish it. I also hit pan on the cream highlight I showed you from essence 🙂 But never on a powder eyeshadow as far as I can remember… and definitely not on a bronzer which i’ve worn like 3 times in my life (and now I have one from Clarins that is GIANT but gorgeous…)

    1. Damn expired products! I think I can finish this in the next few months… and I’ve got plenty of other lip balms to use at night (like the Bite Maple Mask… omg I just want to dive into that sucker).

Hitting pan on a highlighter is insane. Thank god I saw it with my own eyes or I never would have believed you! 😉

OMG THE CLARINS BRONZER? THAT THING LOOKS BEAUTIFUL.

  3. The only thing I’ve really hit pan on is the Bobbi Brown Concealer Duo I’ve been working on for Finish 5 by Fall, but I’m so happy I finally did!!

  4. haha hitting pan..what a dream 😛
actually i finally finished one face powder! huzzah!!
if it weren’t you, i wouldn’t believe that anyone could hit pan on a green eyeshadow. for me, i will def be some kind of brown… w’ll wait in anticipation for that day lol

    1. Lol I’m just over here living the dream you know! 😉

I’ve even FINISHED green eyeshadows before! IMAGINE THAT!

I look forward to the day when I see pan on your brown shadow! 😀 <3

  5. The Nivea lip butters are one of my favourite balms and I also reserve them for before bed because it can get quite greasy looking for day time. I have this fear of hitting pan: it means this product I love using so much will be no more T_T
I’ve hit pan on my all time favourite contour power, the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder which has been giving for over two years and I will 100% be repurchasing it, hopefully if I find it at IMATS. Another product is the Bourjois healthy mix powder which I use in a few shades darker than my skin tone for bronzer.

    1. At least with the Nivea lip butters if you hit pan it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to replace it!

I’ve never delved into Kevyn Aucoin products before, although I do hear about them constantly. I wouldn’t even know where to pick them up locally. Have you only seen that at IMATS?

      1. I saw their stuff at IMATS last year but I can’t remember if they had the contour powder. Sephora just started selling KA products but I want to see how much it coats at IMATS first because it ain’t cheap (53$)

  6. There’s only two products that I’ve hit pan; Rimmel Stay Matte powder and Stila Color Convertible in shade Petunia. I recently planned to put aside certain makeup for me to use for the whole month so fingers crossed that I will finish more products. Ohh, and stop blindly buying makeup too.
