We are in fullfledged holiday makeup season folks. I’m doing my best to swatch what I’ve bought and get several looks up for each palette, but my god – it’s A LOT OF STUFF.
This palette is the Urban DecayVice 4 palette for the 2015 holiday season. I don’t think there’s a soul out there that wasn’t in awe of the packaging. The original promo shot released online was more of a rainbow, but as it turns out, each palette is coloured slightly differently on the front. I imagine that no two are alike, as so far I’ve seen very differently coloured palettes online.
Enjoy the Urban DecayVice 4 swatches! A challenge week will be coming up but not for several more weeks as I’m currently working through the Urban Decay Urban Spectrum palette!
This past weekend was Makeup Christmas in Toronto. The International Makeup Artist Tradeshow (IMATS) was in town so those in attendance got the opportunity to shop some amazing brands at discounted prices!
Awwwwww all official!
Last year when I attended IMATS (held in November then), I was a total newbie to beauty blogging. My site was barely a year old, I knew no one locally in the beauty blogging community and I was very, very green.
However, this year was totally different! I not only qualified for a press pass (hell yes to free entry!), but I’ve met so many lovely people through blogging that I actually feel like I’m party of the community now. (Awww group hug guys!) Such a stark contrast from last year let me tell you!
IMATS floor space at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre
But enough of the sap, let’s get on to the goods! IMATS is open to the public, so you can purchase a ticket for roughly $50. Saturday is usually crazier however, so it did sell out prior to the actual day (buy early!). Those of us with press passes were instructed to the front of the line, which was a huge blessing when we got in there since we could quickly scramble to the booths we wanted to pick up stuff from immediately. Since some booths get absolutely slammed (we’re talking HOURS of wait time to pick up your products) this was a massive relief.
My first purchase with the Viseart Editorial Brights palette. This sucker has NEVER been available/in stock on Sephora AND the dang price just shot up to $100. I’ve been after it for several months once I saw it was available at some other IMATS (LA maybe?). I plunked down the cash ($80 CAD) without even thinking twice. I had wanted this for so long that were wasn’t a chance in hell I was going to pass up on it. PLUS, I had no real other items I had intended to splurge on at IMATS so this was kind of “MY THING” to get.
Lit Cosmetics glitter
My other required stop was Lit Cosmetics. Just looking at these pictures gives me heart palpitations. I LOVE GLITTER SO MUCH.
Lit Cosmetics glitter
I ended up getting seven different colours, but even though that’s quite a few, I’m still looking at these shots I took wondering why I didn’t buy more shades! It’s okay though… they’ll be back next year, I can keep adding to my collection then…

Aren’t they gorgeous? /swoon
Filling up!
The floor was starting to fill up and lines were gettong intensely long.
Make Up For Ever booth. BTW, if that’s you with the flaming orange hair in the top left corner of this shot… your hair is AMAZING!
The wait time at the Make Up For Ever booth was getting to be about 60 to 90 minutes long, but the discount was a whopping 40% off!
Make Up For Ever eyeshadowsMorphe Brushes… and their immense lineup.
Worst lineup though? Morphe Brushes. A few people were saying that it took them THREE FREAKING HOURS to get through that lineup. Thankfully, I wasn’t interested in anything with super intense lines.
Real Techniques Bold Metal brushes
Farley Co was selling the new Real Techniques Bold Metal brushes as well as the regular lineup but they were only taking cash. I, the total fool, had not brought ANY cash with me. Guess I’ll get you another time Miracle Complexion Sponge… 🙁
Colab dry shampoo and Zoella beauty
Farley Co also had cans of the Colab dry shampoo, as well as a lot of products from Zoella‘s line. This the first I’ve heard of them being in North America, so if you like Zoella, you may want to go take a boo at their site.
Benefit Canada
Benefit Canada was also out in force. Discounts were something like 30% off and if you bought three products you got a fourth for free.
MAC pro
I tend to avoid MAC at IMATS because I’ve got enough of their products as it is, but I love their decor so I stopped by for a quick peek. They were offering a 20% discount.
Temptu airbrushingMy second year of IMATS!Canadian Beauty Bloggers out in force!
Last year we only had eight or so Canadian Beauty Bloggers in the shot, this year we had 13 (and more came to lunch)! We’re growing! Be sure to visit them:
About twenty of us went to lunch afterwards where I consumed far too many mimosas. I then went back to the convention centre, bought more glitter from Lit and then headed on home to have a blissfully long nap. It sounds kind of ridiculous when I say it out loud, but we were up relatively early and at the convention centre for 8 am. Between my mimosa induced stupor and the long lines, I was freaking TIRED! All in all, I didn’t buy that much (all products at the bottom of September’ haul post) at IMATS, but I’m happy with what I did get. 🙂
And by the way, if you have access to it, go buy it. I can’t recommend this palette enough. Oddly, some of the more neutral shades are actually my favourite. Millenial, Girl’s Night and Showgirl are unbelievably flattering shades. Not to mention soft and buttery.
On with the looks!
Um yes. So much yes. Dark lips, warm eyes, I’m allll about this look.

Lighting isn’t great on this one, but the colours ARE gorgeous. Less on the purple side though. I tried my best to fix it, but didn’t get very far in the end. :/

Although the purple shade in the palette is not as pigmented or strong as I had anticipated it being from other peoples’ photos, it’s still a lovely shade. And a great colour for those who are scared of colours!

The colour on the lid here (Showgirl) is the same shade I used through the crease in the previous look and it’s unbelievable. It looks like a normal shimmery brown, BUT it can look rosegold in certain lighting. It’s absolutely incredible.

I finally got around to using the Glamour Dust. I didn’t have the shade Nude Beam before I owned this palette so I was really happy that it came with it. These pigments are super shiny and fun. I apply them with Too Faced’s Glitter Glue to make sure they stay put!

For the last few months, Bite Beauty has been releasing limited edition 250 point perks at Sephora. September’s shade was Mimosa and I snagged it in one of my recent Sephora orders.
Bite Beauty 250 point perk from Sephora
The 250 point perk come with a mini lipstick, a mini lip gloss and a pocket sized mirror. Each package is themed around a single colour, so you end up getting a corresponding lipstick, gloss and mirror.
Bite Beauty Mimosa lipstick
The Mimosa lipstick is all kinds of amazingess. It’s a orangey-red and has the typical “Wild Berry” scent that Bite‘s lipsticks have. Mimosa has a luminous creme finish and glides onto the lips easily. The colour is absolutely incredible, plus… you can’t go wrong with a name like Mimosa!
Bite Beauty Mimosa lip gloss
Having never tried a Bite lip gloss before, I was intrigued to find that their gloss has a citrus scent. The Mimosa gloss mimics the colour in the lipstick and holy smokes is it ever pigmented! I couldn’t believe just how much colour is packed into that gloss.
Bite Beauty Mimosa swatches
Aren’t those swatches incredible? There’s so much colour in both the lipstick and the gloss!
Bite Beauty mirror
The tiny pocket mirror has turned out to be handy too. I didn’t actually have a small mirror I could carry around with me that looked decent enough to take outside my apartment so I’m pretty happy to have this cute little one.
Wearing Mimosa lipstick
Mimosa is the kind of shade of red that I absolutely love wearing. I feel like it’s similar to Revlon‘s Fire and Ice (another favourite) although I’ve not compared them side by side. It’s an easy red to wear – not only because it looks gorgeous, but also because it sits on the lips really, really nicely. Unfortunately, Mimosa is a limited edition shade, so if you want it, be sure to snatch it up! I think I’ll be picking up the full size because I’m completely enamoured with the colour.
I’m curious to see what colour Bite Beauty will release next month! Last month was Bellini, a gorgeous neon pink shade, so I kind of feel like they’re sticking with the drink names. Maybe Sangria is next? Hmmm….
