What’s On My Face – Volume 43

With Halloween over, I can finally catch up on my backlog of posts to get through. I had hoped to have my Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Challenge Week up this week, but it seems that isn’t happening, so that’ll be up next week! Till then, here’s a collection of looks that I wore at some point throughout October with a couple guest posts chucked in for good measure. Enjoy!

I wore this to a preview of the H&M Beauty Department and got a lot of compliments on it. It’s one of my favourite colour combos so I was really happy that others seemed to like it as well!

The Soul Sister glitter I picked up from Lit Cosmetics at IMATS is quite possibly the most beautiful glitter I’ve ever encountered. My shots don’t do it justice, but it’s primarily green with gold and copper flecks. It’s absolutely incredible.

I was headed out to Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland and had to wear something festive. Because even though it may not be seen by anyone due to how dark it was, *I* still knew I was wearing something fun! And by the way? Canada’s Wonderland Halloween Haunt? TOTALLY worth it. I had so much fun!

    1. Awww you’re way too sweet. I started wearing colours in my teens, so I think I just got really used to it at a young age. (Colours I remember are MAC’s Parfait Amour, Tilt, Sprout, Bio Green (some of them are discontinued now).) I don’t think I combined colours much at that age and if you look at my looks now, they’re pretty much the same colour just different tones (like light green and dark green, orange and brown). I struggle with mixing colours that are on totally opposite ends of the colour spectrum because they just don’t blend how I expect them to.

That being said, I also watch a LOT of YouTube tutorials, so it gives me a better idea of what goes together and what doesn’t.

The OTHER thing that may help is that my eyes are quite hooded, although I can hide it a little bit in perfectly posed photos. On a day to day basis, I don’t really display a lot of lid space, so it’s easier to hide crazy colours underneath my eyelid flaps (baaahahah).

I’m not sure any of that helped… but it really is about getting used to seeing yourself wearing it. If you feel confident with it (and that can take a while), then it doesn’t matter what other people think. I’m fairly confident half of my workplace thinks I’m just the crazy eyeshadow lady, whereas the other half thinks I’m quite fashionable with my eyeshadow. Either way, I wear what I want!

  1. *swoooon* at every look!! LoL Those lit cosmetics glitters are amazing! And how did I miss that JustJ guest post? That look is bringing double rainbows to my rainy Monday 😍 You remind me of Charlize Theron with that makeup! Melted Berry looks fantastic on you, I’m going to pull that out and wear it tonight.

    1. I actually JUST chopped all my hair off. lol I was getting annoyed with it and had had long hair for so dang long. (Plus in the unicorn look I actually used a bunch of extensions.)
