Softlips LUXE Lip Moisturizers (Review & Giveaway)

It’s hard for me not to fall continuously in love with new lipbalms. There’s always new packaging, new scents and new brands. And as an avid lipstick wearer, I’ve got to keep my lips moisturized somehow!

  • Replenishes – with antioxidant vitamins A, C & E
  • Smoothes – Rough, chapped lips with light-weight and non greasy formula
  • Protects – Moisture barrier that protects against dryness
  • Adds shine – for a perfect radiant finish

What I Say

The Softlips LUXE balms are a very soft lip balm formula. INCREDIBLY soft. They melt onto my lips like butter! Although the product comes in a white bullet, both flavours went on my lips clear (bonus! No whitecast!). They’re quick and easy to apply thanks to the bullet and they leave a behind a moderate sheen that’s fairly typical from a stick balm.

I’ve been wearing them overnight to test them out and I do notice that they seem to heal my lips inordinately fast when they’re a bit chapped. For example, I didn’t apply any balm before bed last night, woke up with rough lips this morning, applied some of the LUXE balm (I’m writing this on November 8th by the way) and within thirty minutes my lips are almost back to normal. I was a bit shocked since I wasn’t expecting fast acting results like that!

If you’re looking to pick these up, it seems the Softlips LUXE can only be found at Walmart with a price tag just shy of $5 CAD.

  1. I love the bullet style packaging! I have been liking using up the deluxe samples I have of the Bite BB for lips lately, does that count as a lip balm?

    1. The bullet is really, REALLY nice on this one.

The Bite BB totally counts as a lip balm! I’ve been using the Agave Mask in Maple and oh man… to die for!

    1. The cubes are fantastic too! I just read on their Twitter that they have a limited edition Salted Caramel CUBE for the holidays… I wonder if I can find that one because MY GOD I NEED IT.

  2. My balm love is Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm with Vitamin E & Peppermint. It’s one of the few I repurchase, and I have one at work, one in the purse, one (lost) at home, etc. Love it!

In the past, surprisingly, it was Mint Chapstick or the Blistex pot (white not blue). I’m a sucker for mint but love trying new balms. I’ve bought a couple recently thanks to reading your entire blog archive. Kind of enjoying the slight whitecast from the Nivea Raspberry tin. 🙂

    1. I always keep a tube of Burt’s Bees in my backpack! I love the peppermint flavour to it. 🙂 Sounds like you’re definitely in love with that one!

Blistex is definitely one of the best for healing my lips during the winter months – especially when I’m up on a ski hill and need protection from windburn!

I’m so glad you found some interesting ones to look into from my blog! You know, the Nivea one is such an interesting thing. The whitecast can be way too start if you pack it on (which I kind of tend to do when I’m going to bed), but for daytime use, I do like the slightly blanched out look it can give the lips. I’ve not tried the Raspberry one though! How’s that one? I’m almost done with my Macadamia one…

      1. It’s fairly standard artificial raspberry. I quite like it, but keep it in my purse since I usually reach for something that tingles. I like fruity flavours in a lip balm as well though. Doesn’t taste like raspberries, and the smell isn’t too strong or anything.

Your blog has actually been bad for me. I hadn’t worn makeup in years but I’ve picked up some balms, a highlighter blush and am planning a trip to Sephora and Mac. Hubby doesn’t mind, but he is confused when I start busting out my makeup again. I love the looks, just rarely do it and HATE taking it off. What I really want to find is affordable blush/highlighter beads. Your recent review of Flocons Enchantes had me drooling.

        1. If you’re looking for an affordable highlighter, check out the drugstore and look for Physicians Formula. They have a phenomenal highlighter that is really, really well liked by a lot of people!

For me, wearing makeup is about getting the chance to paint on my face every day. It’s a washable canvas so I can create new things every day! If you’re having fun with it, that’s all that matters. 🙂

    1. Interesting, although I’ve not tried Fresh, everyone seems to recommend them. What didn’t you like?

I didn’t know that about the H2O lip treatments! I’ll have to look into it. I’ve used Jack Black while running and HATED that it made my lips all gummy (sweat + spit I guess).

Odd that your Tokyomilk one would smell bad but taste good!

    1. I have the sweet mint and like the initial tingle but for me it feels waxy after a bit. I wanted to love it, but it’s just okay. 🙁 Shockingly though, my hubby will use it (at home) because he finds it doesn’t leave a shine or residue like others do. He’s a fussy bucket but at least I’ve finally got him moisturizing his lips.

      1. I agree, there is a waxiness to it that isn’t there in other lip balms. I still use it, but not for deep intense hydration that’s for sure.

I’m not sure I’ve seen my husband use lip balm (good on you for getting yours to!), but I do have him using some Bioderma Micellar water to refresh his face when he’s feeling too greasy. Baby steps! 😀

  3. I have a tub of balms beside my bed and at least 2 in my purse, car, and locker. I like Jack Black for heavy duty balming, and Fresh Sugar or MAC Lip Conditioner when the air isn’t painfully dry.

  4. I love lip balm and lip gloss and I’m always trying out new brands. I’m currently loving Friggin’ Lip balm.

      1. I think they’re a Canadian company. I haven’t seen their products in store before– I bought mine from their online shop. I highly recommend them.

    1. Oh that’s true, I hadn’t thought of the visibility aspect of it. I always end up twisting up my tubes to see how much I have left because I’m soooo impatient to know details like that. lol

  5. Standard Blistex for it’s healing properties during the day, but at night, I use the It Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush 4-in-1 Reviver Lipstick Stain. Don’t care about the staining part or anything, but it’s thick, a little waxy (but it’s not.. hard to explain) and leaves my lips smooooth in the morning. Otherwise I’m like you, and I have dry, cracked lips. I’ll be out soon, so I’ll have to try these out!

    1. They’re a fantastic brand and a lot of people have said the same. I remember my best friend using them all throughout high school, and that was 15 years ago!
